The Punjab government has decided to lift a ban on the issuance of arms’ licence for three years, Pakistan Today reliably learnt on Thursday. According to the impeccable sources, a summary has been sent to the Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The government has completed record of computerisation of 70 per cent arms’ licence. It has further learnt that the government relaxed a ban on weapons licences over political pressure. In the first phase, arms’ licences will be issued for the most important cases. In the second phase, arms licences will e issued to the general public. It is pertinent to mention here that the government banned the issuance of new arms licences since 2013.
