SIU arrests ring leader of gang looting international passengers

Islamabad Police’s special investigation unit (SIU) arrested the gang leader involved in looting overseas citizens coming from abroad by portraying himself as a government official of security departments.

A police spokesman on Wednesday said that as per directives of police officials, SIU supervised by SP Investigation Capt (R) Muhammad Ilyas constituted a team under the supervision of DSP CIA Bashir Noon. Team members consisting of SI Tehseen, ASI Tipu Sultan and six others worked hard and nabbed the ringleader of the gang who was looting overseas citizens coming from abroad by portraying himself as a government official of security departments.

SIU team recovered a pistol along with ammunition, blue revolving light, commando uniform, fake wireless set and a car from the nabbed person identified as Sardar Wali, a resident of Dhok Jellani, Bhara Kahu Islamabad.

During the preliminary investigation, the accused, who is also a proclaimed offender disclosed multiple cases of money snatching in the territory of Islamabad by introducing himself as a government security official.
