The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Wednesday submitted a calling attention notice in the National Assembly over the issue of Pak-Turk schools.
According to a press release, the PPP lawmakers Belum Husnain, Dr Azra Fazal, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro and Aftab Shahban Meerani submitted the calling attention notice.
The lawmakers stated that, “We hereby give notice of our intention to move a Calling Attention Notice under Rule 88 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in National Assembly 2007.”
The PPP MNAs said that they would like to invite the attention of Minister of Foreign Affairs towards the uncertainty about the future of Pak-Turk schools in the country causing grave concern among the public.
“News about the closure of these schools is disturbing especially for the children studying in those institutes and for their parents,” read the statement, adding that, “This is a serious matter and needs immediate discussion on the floor of the House”.
