The Punjab government is considering sacking around 120 district teacher educators (DTEs) in Rawalpindi due to their poor performance.

Sources claimed that the decision has been taken after the Provincial Schools Department (PSD) termed performance of around 4,000 DTEs across the province including 120 in Rawalpindi “unsatisfactory.”

The sources said that gradually Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) will replace the DTEs and the AEOs will monitor the performance of primary and secondary schools and performance of teachers, the sources said.

Of the 4,000 poor performing DTEs in 36 districts across the province, around 553 would be terminated in phases.
