Torkham gate will help block terrorists’ movement across border: Jhagra

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor on Monday said that installation of gate at Torkham border crossing would  benefit both Pakistan and Afghanistan as citizens of the countries want to block terrorists who used to cross the border and kill innocent people on both sides of the border.

Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said this while speaking to a cheques distribution ceremony held in Baza Zakhakhel in Landikotal. The governor said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are two brotherly neighboring countries who have had cordial relations both at government and masses level.

He said border management plan had been designed to keep a close watch on the people crossing the Torkham border. Jhagra said peace and solidarity in Pakistan was their first priority and would not let any outsider create a rift among the people living in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Jhagra said that the sacrifices rendered by Zakhakhel tribesmen for restoration of peace in Khyber Agency would not go wasted, adding that the ones that died in the flood incident the other day was a shocking news for the whole national. He said on the advice of Prime Minister Nawas Sharif he visited Zakhakhel and condoled the tragic deaths with their heirs.
