Keeping in view a surge in abduction of children with each passing day, the news that Punjab police has rescued 26 children from across the metropolitan city of Lahore in last four days is really commendable and shows that the police authorities are really concerned about the sensitivity of the issue. However, it is really shocking news that most of these children left their homes over their parents’ negligence. Besides, the news that militants and criminal elements from other provinces may also be involved in kidnapping of these children is also dreadful. Since it is the responsibility of state and government to provide security, control crime and maintain law and order situation therefore, the government and concerned departments must play their part to wipe out criminals and terrorists from across the country. In addition, parents are also advised to be kind to their children and not to treat them harshly in order to avoid any such unfortunate incidence. It is hoped that the government will remain sincere in its efforts to control crime and bring criminals to the justice with a spirit to make the lives of people more secure and safe.
