Free Education

Education dispels the darkness of ignorance. Therefore, the news that free education has been imparted to more than two million deserving students including 45% girls really deserves praise. All this has become possible due to the untiring efforts of Punjab Education Foundation whose educational partnership with the low-cost private schools has resulted in extending educational opportunities to hundreds of thousands of people who otherwise didn’t have enough means to bear their educational expenses. The move has also strengthened the public-private partnership by helping these private schools to improve their educational standards.

There is certainly no doubt that the government is committed to provide befitting environment to the students and in this regard many initiatives have been taken during the last five years. Heavy investment in school infrastructure, human resource and other missing facilities highlight that the government is really endeavoring hard to materialise the dream of educated Punjab into reality. Moreover, the decision by the Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif to visit schools on daily basis all across the province is also commendable as it will help further improve the performance of the education department. InshaAllah, that day is not far when Pakistan will be among the countries with highest literacy rate.
