Lecturers of the Federal Urdu University Islamabad on Monday demanded of the government to terminate Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Suleman D Mohammad on charges of illegal appointments and allegedly having a suspicious degree.

A group of lecturers headed by Naeemullah and Shafeeq-ur-Rehman made the demand in a press conference, alleging that that the VC violated the judgment of Sindh High Court and appointed more than 60 persons in the campuses of Karachi and Islamabad.

They were of the view that the VC also appointed Deputy Registrar Shah Muhamamd as additional registrar despite his alleged involvement in the corruption case of Rs 150 million which was under investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
