Under the soon to be passed Pakistan Electronic Crimes Bill (PECB), not liking the Facebook statuses of Pak D3f3nd3rz Rok! are going to be a cognisable offence.
Under the proposed legislation, anyone not appreciative of the efforts of the hard working admins of the Facebook community to highlight the wonderful work that the officers and jawans of our armed forces are doing is actually being explicitly disloyal to the country and should be tried as such.
“If, for instance, the community posts a picture of a smart, young officer of the armoured corps, standing in front of the Al Khalid tank,” said Riaz-ul-Hassan Chatta, a legal expert, “and on top of this picture is the text ‘You like pictures of Indian filmstars everyday, but anyone who doesn’t like and share this picture is a disloyal snake’, then, under the new law, not liking is going to be considered as a clear and unequivocal statement. A treasonous one.”
Unfortunately, shortly after talking to Khabaristan Today, Chatta was taken into custody for posting on Facebook that his Fauji cornflakes weren’t crunchy when he opened a new box this morning.
