Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary and Spokesman Naeemul Haque said on Thursday that the strategy of PTI on the Panama Leaks issue and corruption is a two-fold strategy.

Talking to Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami on his talk show DNA on channel 24, he revealed that strategy: “Firstly, we are going to knock on the doors of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Supreme Court in order to seek justice; and secondly, in order to exert pressure on the government, PTI is going to carry out a rally on 7 August from Peshawar to Rawalpindi.”

“Imran Khan has been my friend for about 33 years now and I have never seen anyone else in Pakistan with the same amount of yearning, as he has to help the poor and needy of the country. Once in power, PTI will —more or less— eradicate the disparity between the rich and the poor,” said the PTI spokesman.

Talking about Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahirul Qadri, Haque said, “Even though the party is in contact with him and some of the members participated in his sit-in on 17 June, but Imran Khan and Qadri haven’t had an official meeting in a long while.”

On the topic of the “third umpire”, Haque said, “According to us, the people of Pakistan are the ‘third umpire’ and they can change the kismet of the country on their own. They could tilt the scales in their favour on any issue,” concluded Haque.

  1. Going for agitation together, like previous, smells not good. Umpire role cannot be ruled out.
