The top Hurriyat leadership in Indian-held Kashmir has extended the strike call till July 31, asking the people to hold sit-in protests against civilian killings.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, and Hurriyat leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, in a joint statement issued in Srinagar, said that people should hold a sit-in on roads and offer Asr and Maghrib prayers together there.

“Shutdown will continue as usual with daily relaxation after 7 pm until late hours. The detailed programme will be issued on Saturday (July 30),” they added.

Moreover, Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has condemned the use of excessive force by India to sabotage the Hurriyet joint march towards Kulgam and said that stopping them from paying tributes to the martyrs is an extreme form of oppression and barbarism.
