Action initiated to seize Pervez Musharraf’s property in Karachi

A district and sessions court ordered four properties of former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf to be seized on Thursday.

District Judge Karachi Nazir Amin Memon initiated action based on the special judge Islamabad’s prior ruling, in which the court had ordered the freezing of Musharraf’s assets and properties.

The district judge ordered seizing of four bungalows belonging to the former president. Musharraf has four bungalows and plots in the city. He asked the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to take action and submit a response in three days over the matter.

The properties of the former president which fall under the court’s ruling include a house on Zamzama street, two houses in DHA phase 8 and a plot in Clifton’s Army Housing Scheme.

In March 2014, Musharraf was formally indicted on treason charges for imposing emergency and the Provisional Constitutional Order on November 3, 2007.
