Sindh chief minister-designate Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that assistance of every single lawmaker irrespective of his/her belonging to the government or the opposition would be required to solve issues in the province.

While talking to the media men on Wednesday after meeting late Makhdoom Amin Faheem’s son, Shah said he would try to go to every member of the provincial assembly for guidance. He would try to solve issues in the province to his best abilities, Shah said.

He negated the perception that affairs of the Sindh government were being run from outside the country and said he would prove the notion wrong once he assumed charge as chief minister of Sindh.

The province was facing several challenges while the biggest of those was unrest and extremist attacks, the finance minister said.

First priority of Sindh government after he is elected as the chief minister would be to improve law and order situation, he said.

Ratification of Rangers stay is a requirement of the law under Article 147 of the Constitution, however, Murad Ali Shah said the PPP’s reservations would be addressed soon and people should consider Rangers issue as a resolved matter. He vowed to uplift governance to a level that people of the province vote for Pakistan People’s Party in general elections 2018.

Murad Ali Shah was nominated as party’s candidate for chief minister’s slot earlier by Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah paid a visit to former president Asif Ali Zardari in Dubai before Murad Ali Shah’s nomination was formally announced.
