Punjab govt to set up overseas police stations

With a view to swift redressal of grievances of overseas Pakistanis, the Punjab government has decided to establish overseas police stations.

Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said this while talking to an eight-member delegation of the Pakistan Press Club UK headed by its President Mobeen Chaudhary, said a press release issued on Sunday.

Bhatti said that these police stations would be set up in those cities in abroad where a large number of expatriate population lives. He also said that 76 seats have been allocated for children of overseas Pakistanis in medical colleges of the province.

Bhatti said that the OPC was playing a pivotal role to address issues being faced by overseas Pakistanis.

The delegation lauded the initiative for formation of the police stations by the Punjab government which will help solve the problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis in lodging complaints.
