Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Chaudhry Abdul Majeed sent his resignation to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday.
Sources said that the PPP central leadership has decided to nominate Chaudhry Yaseen as new president of the party in AJK.
Earlier, the PPP chairman in telephonic conversation with Majeed expressed displeasure over the defeat of PPP in AJK Legislative Assembly elections and asked him to step down.
The PPP chairman told Majeed that despite assuming key position of AJK’s prime minister, he has failed to make his party successful in the recent general elections; therefore, he does not deserve to continue as party president in AJK.
