Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Mian Humayun Parvez said that the traders will join hands to eradicate the menace of deadly epidemic, dengue.

He assured his full support and cooperation to the district government in this regard. After this recent spell of monsoon rain, the chances of dengue larva breed has increased, he added.

He appreciated the anti-dengue drive and actions taken by the local administration in this regard. However, the RCCI president expressed concern about the harassment being made by inspectors in the name of anti-dengue drive.

He admitted the seriousness of dengue issue but said it should be catered in an appropriate way. He said that the aim of such drives should be education and awareness about dengue. Sealing business outlets and placing fines will fade the true essence of the drive, he added.

He stressed the administration to take productive steps to combat dengue and in this regard, they should accelerate their pace of work against dengue fever and to start cleanliness campaign in the city.

The RCCI president urged the citizens to adopt precautionary measures and remove stagnant water from their houses and roof tops.
