PTI’s top leadership blamed for defeat in AJK elections

A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) official blamed the party’s senior leadership over PTI’s poor performance in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections.

PTI’s Policy Council Coordinator Yasir Fayyaz, in an email sent to Chairman Imran Khan, stated that the election results of the AJK polls are an eye-opener for the party’s top leadership.

Fayyaz blamed Khan, PTI’s General Secretary Jehangir Tareen and party leader Barrister Sultan Mahmood over the party’s poor show in the elections.

He stated that the PTI failed to win the elections as it did not select proper candidates for the polls.

“Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen were on foreign tours when they were needed for the electioneering,” the letter stated.

“Imran Khan should prove he can be with the masses instead of traveling in helicopters and luxury vehicles,” Fayyaz wrote.

The PTI worker also criticised the party chairman over not attending renowned social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi’s funeral prayers.
