Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Saturday said the government was strengthening the national economy and boosting industrial structure besides striving to overcome the ongoing energy crisis.
Addressing participants of an inaugural ceremony of the newly-established domestic terminal building at the Sialkot International Airport, the minister said the government was making all-out efforts for resolving problems of the business community.
Asif said economic stability was a priority of the government through resolving the power crisis. He said the government would continue its development agenda by taking the business community into confidence, adding that economic indicators were getting better day by day.
Asif said effective and positive economic policies of the government were helping to restore confidence of the national and foreign investors, adding that these policies were now bearing fruits. He said economy was moving in a right direction and the country needed the development of human resources for continuous economic growth.
The minister said effective policies of the government were giving an economic boost to the country.
Asif said that Sialkot exporters had been playing an effective role in strengthening exports and boosting economy. He said the PML-N government would be successful in the court of the masses during the 2018 general elections as well.
He said arrangements were being finalized for construction of a women university and medical college in Sialkot which would be built on 100 acres of land on Aminabad Road.
Sialkot International Airport Limited Chairman Malik Muhammad Ashraf, MPAs Ch Muhammad Ikram, Tariq Akhtar Subhani, Ch Arshad Javaid Warraich, Rana Liaqat Ali, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Maj (r) Mansur Ahmed, Sialkot Dry Port Trust Chairman Khawar Anwar Khawaja and others were also present.
