Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has sent 12 names, three each from every province, to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for the selection of members of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Finance Minister in a statement in Islamabad said on Friday that the meeting of the parliamentary committee to discuss the appointment of members will be held on Monday.
Meanwhile, Opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah has also sent 12 names, three each from every province, to the secretary National Assembly for consideration and appointment of the Members of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The parliamentary committee would consider the appointment of ECP members in the light of the recommendations made by the government and the opposition.
