A light to moderate rain spell would continue until Tuesday morning with scattered rain expected at Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir and parts of Balochistan.
“No heavy rainfall is expected during the spell,” an official of Met office told the news agency adding, there are few chances of moderate intensity flash flooding at northeast Balochistan only, whereas there is no such forecast for any other area.
In the next 24 hours, rain-thunderstorm with windstorm is expected at scattered places in upper and central Punjab, Kashmir, KP, FATA, eastern Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Met office informed that during the period of 1 July to 22 July rainfall over the country as a whole has been close to its normal value (-9%).
On a regional scale, the variability of rainfall has so far been observed with above normal over GB and KP and below normal over Sindh and Balochistan, while close to normal over Punjab and AJK.
Rainfall is expected at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at isolated places in KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, and DI Khan divisions), FATA, eastern Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Due to rain, there are chances of landslides in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Light drizzle is also expected along the Sindh-Makran coast.
