A policeman was martyred and two proclaimed offenders (POs) were arrested with arms after an exchange of fire on Friday.
The police on a tip-off regarding the presence of outlaws raided a house in Hassanabad locality of Charsadda. During the raid, the criminals hiding in the house showed resistance and opened fire at the police killing an official and fled the scene.
The police chased the fleeing culprits and arrested two with weapons while their other accomplices managed to escape.
The body of the policeman was shifted to hospital where it was handed over to heirs after postmortem.
The nabbed Pos, stated to be wanted by police in several criminal cases, are being interrogated at respective police station.
