KP NAB arrests two ex-officials in Rs150m illegal assets case

PESHAWAR: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested accused Zaki Ullah, Ex-Secretary Housing Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with co-accused his brother Zafarullah Khan, Ex-Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Traffic Police allegedly involved in accumulation of illegal assets worth Rs.150.00 million. INP

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested former Housing Department secretary Zakiullah and his co-accused former assistant inspector general (AIG) traffic police Zafarullah Khan for their alleged involvement in accumulation of illegal assets worth Rs 150 million.

The NAB had authorised an inquiry to ascertain the facts and collect requisite evidence regarding moveable and immoveable properties owned, controlled and possessed by the accused in their name and in the name of their dependents, said a press release issued on Friday.

During the course of inquiry, it revealed that the accused Zakiullah and Zafarullah remained in key portfolios and both the accused piled assets worth millions of rupees in their name and in the name of their dependent.

The list of accused’s illegal properties include five bungalows, including two on Shami Road Peshawar Cantt, one each in Jinnahabad Abbottabad Cantt, Kakul Road Abbottabad and Islamabad Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

The accused also owns a house in Shadman Colony Warsak Road Peshawar while five plots, including two in Regi Model Town Peshawar, one  in Abbottabad Cantt, one in Hayatabad Peshawar and a plot in DHA Islamabad. Moreover, the accused also own two cars, including XLI Corolla and Suzuki Cultus.

The accused will be presented in an accountability court for obtaining his physical remand.
