A non-political organisation namely Labour-Citizens’ Unity has placed banners pleading Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif to continue to offer his services.
The banners displayed a woman with hands joined, insisting the army chief not to leave his office and help Pakistani people get rid of corrupt bureaucrats and politicians.
The corrupt leaders in Pakistan were symbolised with a diagram depicting Pakistan as a green tree with ripe fruits on its edges which were eaten by clever crows and its roots were destroyed by insects.
The banners were displayed by a non-political entity called Labour-Citizens United which basically worked for Labour rights.
Recently, banners asking for an army coup appeared all over the country shortly after the Chairman US Senate’s Armed Services Committee, Senator John McCain, had said that he was deeply impressed by Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif’s leadership skills.
Former president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Afzal Butt has filed the plea that holds ‘move on’ campaign leader, Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and government as parties.
