ATC gives police go-ahead to arrest Qaimkhani in another case

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday gave police a go-ahead to arrest Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Anis Qaimkhani in another case when he is already in their custody in Dr Asim terror facilitation case.

According to reports, court gave the new orders after Hyderabad police presented a 22-year-old case registered against the PSP leader and seek permission to arrest him.

On their appeal, the ATC permitted Qaimkhani’s arrest in the case registered during the year 1994 in Hyderabad Cantt.

In the case, he has been declared accused in the case on the counts of firing and torching vehicles

Qaimkhani is currently in Karachi Central Jail along with Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Abdul Rauf Siddiqui and Wasim Akhtar and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Abdul Qadir Patel in the case pertaining to providing treatment and shelter to alleged terrorists in hospitals run by Dr Asim Hussain, a close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari.

An anti-terrorism court on July 19 rejected their interim bail pleas following which they were arrested.
