Miranda Kerr engaged to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel

Miranda Kerr has announced her engagement to Snapchat co-founder Evan Spiegel.

The Australian supermodel posted a picture online showing a huge diamond ring on her hand.

The image also features a cartoon couple with the man down on one knee proposing and the words “Marry me!” across the bottom.

Kerr, 33, captioned the shot: “I said yes!!!” She added a string of hearts.

“They are extremely happy,” a spokesperson for the Snapchat CEO told MailOnline.

The Victoria’s Secret model started dating American entrepreneur Spiegel in 2015 after they met at a dinner organised by Louis Vuitton in New York in 2014.

Kerr revealed in January that their first date was a class at the Kundalini yoga at Golden Bridge in Santa Monica, an institution favoured by actress Demi Moore and Madonna.

The model, who was previously married to British actor Orlando Bloom, said in the interview with The Edit that she found Spiegel “sweet, really kind and smart”.

“You can’t close yourself off from love,” said Kerr. As well as a shared love of yoga, the two like the quiet life. “He’s 25, but he acts like he’s 50,” the Wonderbra model revealed.

“He’s not out partying. He goes to work in Venice [Beach], he comes home. We don’t go out. We’d rather be at home and have dinner, go to bed early.”

Last month, she posted a message on Instagram to wish him a happy 26th birthday and wrote: “I feel so incredibly blessed to have you as my partner.”

Spiegel, who has been valued at $2.1 billion by Forbes, was welcomed into the fashion fold in style in October when he appeared on the cover of L’Uomo Vogu, along with a multiple-page editorial.

The tech wizard apparently has a bit of a passion for fashion, having previously been spotted wearing a Kenzo jumper and a $220 Acne shirt, according to Yahoo Style.

His app, meanwhile, has amassed 100 million daily active users since its launch in 2011, 10 million of whom are in Britain.

Kerr was married to Orlando Bloom from 2010 to 2013, and the pair have a five-year-old son, Flynn.
