Investors in KP to be allowed to stay in Pukhtunkhwa House: Khattak

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the provincial government was planning to make official guests to stay in the Pakhtunkhwa House Peshawar. This would cater to the investors who would either invest in the province or contribute to the exchequer in terms of income tax or other contributions of the sort to the provincial exchequer.

His government wanted to give an ideal environment to the investors and facilitate them to the maximum. This would be a step forward towards restoring the confidence of the investors to come and invest in the province and earn more dividends.

He was talking to a seven-member delegation of Pakistani community from USA which came for investment in health, tourism and other sectors in the province here in CM House today.

The chief minister revealed his government would launch its own insurance company to reduce investment risk and would also work out how to safeguard foreign investment in the potentially rich sectors of the province. Unfortunately, the past corrupt practices eroded the confidence of the investors. His government eliminated corruption and irregularities and now the investors were planning to invest in different sectors in the province.

Khattak said the provincial government has also planned health insurance for poor and a health card for the official employees was also on the cards.

He further stated that his government was recruiting 1,100 doctors and senior positions were being filled.

He spoke about the background behind the ailing industrial units in the province, saying that industrial units used to make production to consume in Afghanistan, but the inappropriate environment inside Afghanistan dried down the market for industrial units of KP.

“We have developed different types of industrial plots in the existing and new industrial zones and commercials hubs for onward offering to the potential investors. These would be for small, medium and large scale industrial units in Rashkai, Hattar, Jalozai, Ghazi, Dera, Bannu, Swat and others,” he added.

His government has systematically planned industrialisation in the province and would give different attractive facilities to investors through one window operation. A separate company has been launched which would look to the industrialisation process and the facilitation of investors in the province. His government has already planned to use natural gas for the power generation for an onward diversion to the industrial units on concessional rates.

“We have a vision for industrialisation, the investors can now apply online because we have removed the unnecessary gate-keepings that were obstructing the industrialisation and discouraging the investment in the province,” he concluded.
