A family court in Lahore on Wednesday issued arrest warrants for former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s daughter Fiza Gilani for disobeying court orders.

Fiza’s ex-husband Khurram Khan had submitted an appeal, saying his former wife was not allowing him to meet their son and requested the court to let him visit his son, and ensure his former spouse follows the law.

Guardian Court judge Shazia Makhdoom heard the petition and issued Fiza’s arrest warrants.

In her order, the judge asked the law enforcement agencies to take Fiza, who served as goodwill ambassador for women empowerment during the PPP government, into custody, and make her appear before the court by September 3.

  1. This female judge is unfit for this very responsible and mature assignment. She should be removed.
