No elected political party in power, nor paid bureaucracy, both civil and uniformed has right to redefine vision of Quaid e Azam that Pakistan be a modern democratic welfare state, where every citizen, irrespective of his status, or religion is equal and submits himself to majesty of law and constitution. This country has suffered because of Bonapartist tendencies of its elected and dictatorial rulers who have abused this country, and whose myopic vision and policies have played havoc with security of lives of its citizens and depleted it economically.
Pakistan was created by its founding fathers through a political struggle forcing Colonial Raj, bruised by WW2 to accede to demands for liberation with Quaid creating history by carving out a separate homeland where Muslim majority could live in peace with members of other faiths, free from economic exploitation by affluent Hindu majority. The unfortunate reality is that majority of Muslim clergy and political parties opposed creation of Pakistan and neither paid civil bureaucracy or uniformed services created by Raj to facilitate their occupation had any role in this struggle.
No political leader in Pakistan, including Zardari, Sharif, Imran etc, nor khakis have any moral right to devour Quaid’s vision of a democratic Pakistan, nor to regularise irregularities such as multiple allotment of subsidised real estate for commercial profits, nor power to facilitate land mafia dons to illegally occupy state and private land, neither transfer money to foreign safe havens, or allow individuals who have pledged an oath of loyalty to hold any public office.
Imran Khans recent call welcoming military intervention is as morally bankrupt as massive financial irregularities and abuse of power by likes of Zia, Musharraf, Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Kayani, Zarrar etc. There is no room in Quaid’s Pakistan for exploitation of religion or ethnicity, nor for criminal black economy and its benefactors to become so powerful that documented economy dwarfs in comparison to it, nor give any institution right to give sanctuary to foreign mercenaries. Look at Rs 9 Trillion real estate business which pays taxes of under Rs 4 Billion, comprising mostly land belonged to state, allotted irregularly to elite for peanuts, who in nexus with Land Mafia Dons have become so powerful and defiant that forests, agriculture belts and mangroves are being occupied in Karachi, Lahore and even Islamabad.
