An important session of parliamentary committee has been summoned on July 21 to reach a consensus on a bill for the prevention of honour killings.
The bill will be presented in the joint session of Parliament for approval after reaching a consensus in the meeting of parliamentary committee.
The session will be held in the chair of Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid in which two bills of Pakistan People’s Party recently passed in the Senate will be reviewed. Senator Sughra Imam’s amendment bill on honour killings and Senator Farhatullah Babar’s amendment bill on the prevention of sexual violence will also come under discussion.
Sources said that JUI-F had earlier expressed its reservations over these two bills which now have been addressed.
