Super model Ayyan Ali could not appear in Customs Court Rawalpindi in currency smuggling case on Monday.
Judge Rana Aftab Ahmad of customs court took up for hearing the 500,000 dollars currency smuggling case.
Latif Khosa, former governor Punjab, counsel for Ayyan Ali told the court that summons about appearance of model Ayyan Ali in the court were received late. Due to unfavourable weather it is difficult that her flight will arrive in time, it is therefore, requested she may be granted exemption for one day, he requested. The court accepted plea of counsel for Ayyan Ali.
The customs authorities filed a petition seeking confiscation of Ayyan Ali’s passport, taking the plea that her passport should be allowed to be kept in their custody till the decision of the case.
Judge Rana Aftab Ahmad expressed displeasure over it remarking the court should not be dictated.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till August 17. .
