A French woman and her three daughters were wounded after they were stabbed by a Moroccan man for being scantily dressed in the Alps, The Telegraph reported.
All victims were shifted to hospital, with the youngest one fighting for her life as her lung was punctured in the stabbing. The daughters aged 8, 12 and 14.
The Moroccan man attacked them in the Alpine holiday resort Colombe, southern France, at 10am in the morning.
The attacker has been arrested and police are investigating into the case.
The authorities have yet to provide details on the incident. They don’t so far know the real motive behind the stabbing.
Local prosecutor Raphaël Balland said the motive remains “very vague”, according to Russia Today.
“These are all rumours, he didn’t say anything relating to religion,” Balland said about people saying that the attacker had criticised the women before attacking them with a knife.
