All the ministries and divisions of the federal government and the provincial governments on Monday were directed to observe ‘Black Day’ on July 20 to express solidarity with the people of Indian-held Kashmir (IHK).
The Cabinet Secretariat through a circular has directed the authorities concerned to comply with the directive of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the decision of the federal cabinet on July 15 to observe the ‘Black Day’ on Wednesday to express solidarity and lodge protests against grave human rights violations in the IHK.
According to a circular, all officers and officials of the federal and provincial governments shall wear black armbands while performing their duties to express political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris.
Arrangements should be made to offer special prayers (after Zuhr prayer) for the martyrs of Kashmir.
The Foreign Office has been required to issue necessary instructions to all the Pakistan Missions abroad to highlight the Indian atrocities in IHK through media and mobilise Pakistani diasporas to lodge strong protests in front of the parliaments of their respective countries and the UN organisations.
They are required to mobilise human rights organisations in their respective countries to take notice of the human rights violations in IHK and to sensitise various caucuses in the different regions.
