Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) head and Kashmir Committee Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Pakistan should raise the Kashmir issue at international forum as India is not ready for bilateral dialogue for the resolution of the dispute.

Addressing a seminar on Tuesday, Maulana said that India has been delaying talks on Kashmir under different excuses. He said the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy is Kashmir issue and questioned why the issue is not being raised at international level.

He said Pakistan will have to adopt an aggressive approach instead of defensive position on the issue. He asked if India has a strong case about Kashmir, why it is not ready to accept third party mediation. No one can deny that a massive uprising is going on in Indian-held Kashmir and Kashmiri people are giving sacrifices for their just cause, he added.

There has been no change in Pakistan’s policy on Kashmir, he said and regretted that freedom movements had been involved in terrorist acts.
