Royalty is rarely seen while travelling on the London Underground but the Prince of Dubai and his father are clearly the exceptions to the rule after being spotted on the Tube.

Despite having billions in the bank, the Dubai royalty decided on the rather low-key travel option of the London Underground on a visit to the capital.

In an immensely rare sight, Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum shared a photo of him sitting on the tube next to his father, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Ruler of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

They were dressed in casual clothes, with the Crown Prince of Dubai wearing a T-shirt and jeans as he posed for photos and videos on the busy Tube next to members of the public.

The Sheikhs boast a vast UK property empire, including numerous homes in and around London, and also own the Longcross Estate in Surrey, thought to be worth around £75 million.

  1. What is that feeling when you're driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? – it's the too-huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.

  2. These are the advantages of travel, that one meets so many men whom one would otherwise never meet, and that one feeds as it were upon the complexity of mankind

  3. Do we really want to travel in hermetically sealed popemobiles through the rural provinces of France, Mexico and the Far East, eating only in Hard Rock Cafes and McDonalds? Or do we want to eat without fear, tearing into the local stew, the humble taqueria's mystery meat, the sincerely offered gift of a lightly grilled fish head? I know what I want. I want it all. I want to try everything once.
