Senator Ghani flays PML-N for its ‘anti-women’ policies

Pakistan People’s Party Senator Saeed Ghani said that the policies of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) government are anti-women so the incidents of violence against women are on the rise.

In a statement, he said the murder of Qandeel Baloch shook the nation and women in particular as the girl had pleaded the Interior Ministry to provide her security which was not provided to her and thus, facilitated her murderers.

He said the incidents of violence against women have increased in the PMLN government and in recent months, several cases of murders of women have been reported. The incidents of acid throwing and torturing women have also increased during this government, he added.

He said the PMLN does not have any respect for law and the people involved in the Model Town massacre are roaming free. He said that strict punishments should be awarded for crimes against women.
