Anti-polio drive to bring in Karachi from July 25

A six-day anti-polio drive will be conducted in the metropolis from July 25.

This was announced by Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Ahmed Khan on Monday. He also chaired a meeting of security coordination committee for the campaign.

The technical consultant for Sindh Emergency Operation Centre Dr Ahmed Ali Shaikh said that the drive would continue till July 30.

He said that the anti-polio campaign would be carried out in 51 union councils of the metropolis.

It was pointed out that 2,849 teams would perform duty during the drive. These would include 659 supervisors. Effective security arrangements would also be made on this very occasion.

In the sensitive union councils, the anti-polio drive would be conducted after cordoning off the area, it was further pointed out.
