At least two persons including a woman died while five others injured when a portion of a building collapsed on Sunday.
Rescue sources said that roof of upper portion of a two-storey dilapidated building located near Shaheen Complex in the metropolis city of Karachi suddenly caved in. Rescue personnel reached the scene and pulled out the seven injured people from the debris and shifted them to a hospital where two persons, including a woman named Parveen Mughal, expired while five others were under treatment in a critical condition. It is pertinent to add that dozens of dilapidated buildings in Karachi city pose serious threat to precious lives but the authorities concerned were doing nothing in this regard.
