The government has released about 629 billion rupees out of total 700 billion rupees reserved for federal public sector development programme during the financial year.
This included over 89 billion rupees foreign aid component. According to the Planning Commission officials, over 114 billion rupees have been released to WAPDA for power sector development.
Over 111 billion rupees have been released to the National Highway Authority, 38 billion rupees to the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission and over 25 billion rupees to the Pakistan Railways for different development projects.
Similarly, 92 billion rupees have been released for special federal development programme for temporary displaced persons and security enhancement, around 21 billion rupees for pakistan millennium development goals and community development programme, over 45 billion rupees for special areas including AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, SAFRON and FATA and 20 rupees for prime minister’s youth programme during the last fiscal year.
