Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah taking a policy decision has ordered to create a separate unit or wing to provide foolproof security to judiciary according to their advice, guidance and requirement.

The meeting was attended by Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Advisor to CM on Law Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Siddique Memon, IG Police Ad Khwaja, Principal Secretary to CM Alamuddin Bullo and secretaries of law and home departments.
IG Police AD Khwaja briefed the chief minister on the progress of Awais Shah’s kidnapping case right from his access to digital data like phone calls, SMS and such other activities. “We have mobilised all the resources available with the police and the intelligence agencies to work out this case,” he said, adding that police, Rangers and intelligence agencies have developed an exemplary coordination in this case and Inshallah “we would recover him safe and sound.”
The chief minister said that kidnapping of Awais Shah was aimed at demoralising the judiciary. “Our judiciary is strong enough to absorb such shocks but it doesn’t mean that we should sit idle,” he said. “We have to work day and night to recover him safe and sound and prepare a plan to provide foolproof security to the judges,” he said.
While briefing the chief minister, the IGP said that 2,670 policemen were provided for providing security to the lower judiciary while 1,200 cops have been appointed for the security of Supreme Court and high court judges. Besides, Rangers personnel were also assisting them (police), the IG said.
The chief minister directed the chief secretary and the IGP to create a separate unit or wing for the security of judiciary right from lower to top judiciary. “But this mechanism would be effective if the security of judges is made in accordance with their guidance, directives and consultation.”
