Sindh seeks Punjab’s help for police reforms

The Sindh government has contacted the Punjab government seeking assistance for police reforms by fully computerising the department.

The Sindh government is planning to computerise its the police department to facilitate the public and enhance the departmental efficiency to improve the law and order situation in the province.

Sindh Chief Secretary Siddique Memon has written a letter to the Punjab chief secretary stating that the provincial police chief had shown his desire to modernise the police department by employing IT on the pattern of the Punjab police department.

The Punjab police have introduced police station record management system (PSRMS) to improve the efficiency of the department by making the records readily available to police officers. The online application has digitalised the FIR life-cycle from launching an FIR, nominating of culprit, investigation and court proceeding details to the final process of case closure.
