Pakistan began their second innings on Saturday after England were all-out for 272 on day three of the first Test against Pakistan at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Resuming their innings at 253/7 on the third day, English tailenders added only 19 runs for three wickets.
Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah finished with an innings haul of six for 72 in 29-overs.
At stumps on day two, Yasir mesmerised with an astonishing five for 64 at 2.56 per over to bring his side back into the contest after a 110-run partnership between England captain Alastair Cook (81) and Joe Root (48) started to create troubles for Pakistani bowlers.
Pakistan’s fielding remained a worry as they spilled easy chances, with two alone coming off Mohammad Amir’s bowling.
But Amir managed to register his first Test scalp on his return to the longer format when Cook edged a good-length delivery on to his stumps. He returned the figures of one for 65 from 18-overs, which consisted of two maidens.
England trail by 86 runs with three wickets in hand.
