SHC judges not happy with security given to their families

The judges of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday expressed serious concern on the performance of law enforcement agencies that failed to recover Barrister Owais Ali Shah, the son of SHC Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, even after 24 days of his abduction.

Reliable sources informed PPI that the SHC judges convened a meeting on the SHC premises and opined that Barrister Owais’ abduction was against the independence of the judiciary and the judges. Their family members were exposed to any untoward incidence of like nature which might hamper dispensation of justice and may create sense of insecurity among all the citizens of Pakistan, they apprehended.

The sources added that the judges had also shown concern over safety and security of their families and expressed their discomfort as no useful steps had been taken so far to enhance their security by the authorities concerned.

Despite all these facts, the honorable Judges expressed their commitments to dispense justice to the public at large without any fear or favour, and pledged to continue to discharge their duties in accordance with the mandate of the constitution of Pakistan, PPI reported.

The sources said that the judges were of the view that the president and prime minister of Pakistan should use their good offices to ensure safe recovery of Barrister Owais Ali Shah.
