24 more dengue cases detected in city

As many as 26 more dengue viral fever cases have been reported in Sindh province in a week, out of which 24 have been detected from Karachi, taking the patients toll to 802 in the province since January 2016.

According to the weekly report issued by prevention and control program for dengue in Sindh, about 26 new dengue fever cases surfaced in Sindh province from 8 to 14 July 2016, out of which 24 were reported from Karachi and one each from Hyderabad and Larkana.

A total 24 new dengue fever cases were detected in Karachi last week, out of which seven were reported from District Central, seven from District South, one from District West, three from District East, two from District Korangi and four from District Malir.

In 2016, total 802 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2016, out of which 741 were detected from Karachi, 15 from Hyderabad, five each from Sukkur & Ghotki, four from Tando Muhammad Khan and Larkana, three each from Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar and Khairpur, two each from Badin, Thatta, Jamshoro, Umer Kot, Sanghar, Naushero Feroz, Shaheed Benazirbad and Shikarpur. One death was reported from dengue fever from Nawabshah.
