The Indian media criticised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif when he issued a statement in support of Burhan Wani, a youth martyred by occupied forces.

The death of 22-year-old Wani, a poster boy for the region’s biggest separatist group, has sparked the deadliest clashes in the occupied Kashmir since 2010 when massive demonstrations were held against Indian rule.

Earlier, PM Nawaz Sharif said that the voice and struggle of the people of Indian occupied Kashmir cannot be suppressed through the use of brutal force and human rights abuses.

He was talking to Chairman Special Committee of the Parliament on Kashmir and chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman who called on the PM at Raiwind.

The PM said the government and people of Pakistan respect the sentiments of their Kashmiri brethren and will continue to support the Kashmir cause at every international forum.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called an emergency meeting to discuss escalating violence in India-held Kashmir amid anti-India protests that have left at least 30 people dead and hundreds injured in clashes with authorities.

Army General Raheel Sharif also condemned the killing of Wani. India, on its part, has already told Pakistan not to interfere in its internal matters.

  1. But they never discussed Kashmir! You don’t laugh while talking about a matter as serious as Kashmir. Both were laughing and Deisel did not say a word about Occupied Kashmir! They should be ashamed.
