Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto called Hurriyat representative Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday and expressed his support for the people of Kashmir.

Bilawal told Mirwaiz that the PPP would continue to support the people of Kashmir. He also condemned the violence of the Indian army on unarmed Kashmiri people.

Bilawal also called upon his party workers to protest around the country on Friday in support of the people of Kashmir.

Violence erupted in occupied Kashmir six days earlier as 37 civilians were killed by the Indian army. A curfew has been imposed in some parts of the occupied territory as the Kashmiris continued their strike against the Indian government.

Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz were placed under house arrest by the Indian government. The Hurriyat representatives have extended their strike against the Indian government till today.
