Acute shortage of food, medicines as Kashmir demos continue

In Occupied Kashmir, people are facing acute shortage of essential items including medicines due to continued curfew since Saturday morning following the martyrdom of Hizbul Mujahideen leader Burhan Wani and his two associates.

Talking to newsmen, scores of people complained that they are not being allowed to move out of their homes even to buy food and medicines.

Doctors at various hospitals said that shortage of medicines has been affecting the medical centres.

Meanwhile, protest demonstrations and strikes have been continuing against the martyrdom of Burhan Wani and 36 other Kashmiris.

Over 2,000 people were injured including young boys who have lost their eyesight after being hit by pellets fired by Indian troops.
