Karachi police manhandles Edhi’s grandson

The grandson of late humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi was allegedly beaten up by police officials in the Sir Syed town area on Wednesday night, a private news channel reported.

A police official told the channel that Ahmed Edhi was found sitting in a parked car in a deserted lane of the area, hence police officials approached him for questioning. “He was not harassed or beaten by police officials, but was questioned and allowed to leave,” said the official.

However, TV footage showed Ahmed sitting on a chair with buttons of his shirt torn off.

The DIG West has suspended an assistant sub-inspector and three constables for torturing the youth.
