Several villages and vast area of irrigated lands were inundated by flood waters from Indus River which disconnected ground link of more than 20 villages from other areas of Ghotki due to flood.
Locals said that concerned authority did not start rescue operation so far in flood-affected areas and many people have trapped into their houses and they have been facing several difficulties due to shortage of food, water and other daily use items.
Flood water from Indus River devastated standing crops and washed away many slum houses. The standing crops including sugar cane and vegetables have been destroyed due to flood water and affected farmers have been facing huge financial losses, the affectees said.
On the other hand, intense hot weather increased miseries of the affected people and it is feared that fatal diseases could erupt in the flood-affected areas.
