Chief Minister’s Advisor for Information and Archives Moula Bux Chandio has denounced the silence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over the Indian atrocities of killing Kashmiri’s people and arresting its leaders ruthlessly.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Moula Bux Chandio said that around 30 people have been killed and over 1,400 more have been injured in Kashmir by Indian forces during the last five days after Friday night’s killing of 22-year-old Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani. He said Kashmiri leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik have been kept under house arrest. India is once again out to commit atrocities on Kashmiri leaders, which will not be tolerated, he added.

He said: “It is matter of great concern that the US has shown reservations over Indian atrocities but our Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is keeping mum over the issue.” Chandio demanded investigation into extrajudicial killings of Burhan Wani and Kashmiri people. The PML-N government should come forward with positive approach and press India for providing justice to the people’s families, he urged.

The CM’s Adviser said PM Nawaz Sharif’s silence over atrocities on Kashmiris was nothing but a criminal act. Cell phone and Internet services had been disabled in large parts of the Kashmir Valley which was also a matter of great concern, he added.
