Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday visited Edhi centre and offered Fateha over sad demise of Abdul Sattar Edhi.
During his visit, he paid rich tribute to the legendry philanthropist and said his death was a great national loss. “The death of Abdul Sitar Edhi is a great national loss, particularly to the sick humanity,” said Bilawal.
Faisal Edhi told media that orphan girls wanted to see Bilawal Bhutto and that was why he brought him here.
“Bhutto family has a deep bond with Edhi home. Benazir Bhutto as a prime minister had visited the center and lauded the services of Edhi sahib,” he recounted.
The humanitarian passed away at the age of 88 in Karachi on Friday night.
Thousands of people, including high-profile politicians and government officials gathered at the National Stadium to attend Edhi’s funeral prayers on Saturday.
The iconic social worker was given a guard of honour and a 19-gun salute by the Pakistan Army as his body was taken away from the National Stadium after the funeral.
